On Thursday March 8th 2018, fourteen-year-old Trevyan Rowe went missing. Police say he boarded the bus to go to school but never actually made it inside School #12 on South Avenue. Trevyan was autistic. A search did not start until well after the end of the school day. Community activists worked with police to search for him, but an amber alert was never activated because those are only used under specific criteria. Many people did not hear about the situation until his body was pulled out of the river four days after he went missing.

While our community grieves the fate of this young man, many are asking who is responsible for this tragedy? The School? The City? Perhaps another organization? We prefer to focus on how we can make sure the next time this happens we can prevent the loss of life. So we are working on creating an alert system that people can voluntarily sign up for to get a picture message with a description sent to you if a child goes missing.

The process is simple. Provide your name, email, and cellphone number. If a child goes missing we will send you their information. We will of course verify the emergency before sending the information out.

Our goal is to make this simple and to use technology to prevent a tragedy.
